3-Day Tanzania Safari
This 3-day Tanzania safari will begin and end in Arusha town, which is the town of all the stopovers for the safaris going to the northern circuit of Tanzania. This is a great package for visitors of all categories because you will explore Tanzania for a short period and all the parks that you will explore are found within the same locality, so you will not move for long distances. This three-day Tanzania safari will take you to Ngorongoro Crater, a wildlife haven in Tanzania; Tarangire National Park; and the evergreen Lake Manyara National Park. You will begin your tour of the wild by visiting Tarangire National Park, which is renowned for its exceptionally large elephant herds and the enormous baobab trees that dot the park. Accommodations will be in a lovely tented camp nearby with great views of the surrounding plains and Lake Burunge in the distance, but you may also choose to stay at a less expensive mid-range lodge in the Karatu region, where we can take you late in the day after successful game drives in the Tarangire.
Places to visit during your 3-day Tanzania Safari
Your three-day safari in Tanzania will continue with a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, which is renowned for its incredible diversity of animals that can be seen up close. Consider lions, elephants, leopards, black rhinoceroses, and buffaloes. With a little bit of luck, all the big five can be seen in this “Eden of Africa” on a single day. Accommodations on this day can be found at either the beautiful mid-range lodge that we have included in this published itinerary in Karatu, which is close to the Loduare Main Gate to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, or immediately at the crater rim (at an additional cost).
The third and final day of your three-day safari in Tanzania will be spent traveling from Arusha to the evergreen Lake Manyara National Park, home to the fabled tree-climbing lions and a variety of other wildlife. With over 400 bird species documented here, the park is a great place to watch hippos beside the lake. You might also get lucky and spot flamingos or other aquatic birds. You will be dropped off back at your Arusha accommodation in the late afternoon, or if departing on this day, you can be dropped off (for a little cost) at the Kilimanjaro International Airport. Your incredible “taste of Tanzania” has come to an end. Experience the great safari with the great experience guide.
Day 1. Leave Arusha at your lodge and drive to Tarangire National Park.
Pickup in the early morning from Arusha (or Moshi Town), followed by a long journey through the Masai Steppe to Makuyuni Junction and down to Tarangire National Park. Currently, the fifth-largest park in Tanzania, Tarangire National Park, is filled with incredible giant Baobab trees and a remarkable massive herd of elephants. If you enjoy jumbos or other types of large wildlife, Tarangire is a site you shouldn’t miss while on your African safari to Tanzania. Numerous animal species, including rare breeds like oryx and hirolas, and unusual bird species, can be found in the park. We leave the park later in the afternoon, and you can choose to stay at the wonderful Sangaiwe Tented Camp with stunning views of the plains and Lake Burunge in the distance, or you can be transferred to Karatu, where you’ll check into a lodge for dinner and the night. Also included are lunch and dinner.
Day 2. Transfer from Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
You will check out and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, often known as the eighth wonder of the world, after a dawn meal at your camp. After checking in at the Loduare Main Gate, you will enter the Crater for an amazing game drive and picnic lunch on the crater floor. One of the Seven Wonders of the World is frequently used to describe Ngorongoro Crater. The “crater” (which isn’t a crater) is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and is known as a natural haven for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. This is also one of the few locations in the world where it is possible to see the endangered black rhino in its native environment. You may expect to witness lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds, and other species because only a small number of animals travel in and out of the crater with its 2000-foot-high walls. With a little luck, your hawk-eyed safari guide can sight all five of the Big 5 during a single game drive. Later in the afternoon, you can either be taken to our standard lodge at Karatu, which is close to the gate and just outside the conservation area, or you can climb to the crater rim and check-in at a lodge (at an additional cost). Night at CountryLodge or similar. Each meal is provided.
Day 3. Explore Lake Manyara National Park and transfer back to Arusha.
On the final day of your 3-Day Tanzania Safari, have an early breakfast at the lodge (or bring a packed breakfast and lunch) and make your way down into the Great Rift Valley to the Lake Manyara National Park. The Masai nomadic people employ the Euphorbia tirucalli tree species to build hedges to defend their farms and livestock, and the name “Manyara” is a Maa word (Masai Language) for that tree species. The park is distinguished by a large number of these trees and the tree-climbing lions, which are frequently seen napping on the branches in the afternoon.
In this Evergreen Park, it’s also common to see impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, and dik-diks, among many other animals. You’ll see that as soon as you enter the park, there is a lush, evergreen forest that is fed by underground water streams. This is the ideal habitat for blue monkeys, baboons, bushbucks, and large elephants, which can be seen taking refuge in the sheds from the afternoon sun while munching on the leaves, twigs, and herbs. You may see hippos and aquatic birds, including multicolored flamingos, pelicans, Egyptian geese, cormorants, and many others at the Hippo pools and Lake Manyara proper.
You’ll go on game drives until midday, after which you’ll drive to Arusha and be dropped off at your hotel there. If you’re leaving today, we can also drop you off at Kilimanjaro International Airport for a very small price. Included are a lunchbox and dinner.
