The safari itinerary begins with your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be met and driven to Arusha for an overnight stay before departing early the following morning for game drives in Tarangire National Park. On the fourth day, you will go on game drives in the Lake Manyara National Park before traveling to Arusha to catch a flight to the spice island of Zanzibar.

Before you head to Zanzibar for some beach leisure, take a quick safari to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater for the chance to see all five of the big cats in one location. Day 1: Arrive in Kilimanjaro International Airport and Transfer to Arusha

You will land in Tanzania on this day at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, which is 45 minutes by car from Arusha. Our TSS representative will get you up and take you to your lodge or hotel in Arusha so you may spend the night. At the Ilboru Safari Lodge, spend the night. The meal is free.

Day 2. Arusha transfer to Tarangire National Park

Early breakfast is served at your Arusha lodging before your guide picks you up and drives you in a 4×4 safari jeep to Tarangire National Park (about a two-hour drive away). From Arusha to Tarangire, there is a picturesque journey that offers breathtaking landscape and views of Maasai shepherds caring for their cattle. You will register at the park gate upon arrival around mid-morning and immediately begin your first safari game drive in this renowned park in Tanzania’s Northern safari circuit. Numerous animals congregate at the river’s banks in search of water, and the Tarangire River passes right through the park, assuring a steady supply of water. Large elephant herds and the enormous baobab trees that are scattered over the Tarangire plains serve as the region’s defining features. After seeing enough wildlife in the late afternoon, you will be driven to Karatu, where you will check into the Marera Valley Lodge. Included are all meals.

Day 3. Explore the Ngorongoro Crater

This morning, breakfast will be consumed early, or you can leave with a packed breakfast and lunch. Your tour guide will pick you up early today and take you to the Loduare (main) entrance in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you can register to participate in the NCAA. The Ngorongoro Crater’s Viewpoint will be your next stop, where you may enjoy stunning views of the crater’s floor and take pictures. The majority of the animals wander this 21 kilometer wide, largest unbroken caldera in the world, at the bottom of the tortuous roadways that descend the 600 meter sides towards the Crater. Big lion prides, large herds of elephants, buffalo, leopards, large and tiny antelopes, as well as the endangered black rhino, are just a few of the many cats that may be seen in the Ngorongoro Crater. On a lucky day, you can see all five of the big cats. After a successful wildlife viewing, you will be driven back to your lodge in Karatu where you will spend the night and have dinner. Day 4: Drive from Lake Manyara National Park

You will drive down the Rift Valley Escarpment, a very spectacular journey, and into the floor of the Great Rift Valley early this morning after breakfast or with a packed breakfast and lunch. You will check in at the main gate of the Lake Manyara National Park and enter the park for wildlife drives all morning long. At around noon, you will re-enter the park for your picnic lunch before leaving for Arusha. Famous for its fabled tree-climbing lions, Lake Manyara is also home to vast herds of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, did diks hippos, and many more animals. After satisfying wildlife drives, you will be taken to Arusha Domestic Airport for your internal flight to Zanzibar Island later in the afternoon. Day 5-7:  Beach Stay at Zanzibar

You will have three full days at your discretion to enjoy a beach vacation on the Island of Zanzibar after your unforgettable African safari trip in the Northern Tanzania Safari circuit. You will get a half-board reservation, which includes breakfast and dinner. Lunch can be bought from the restaurant and paid as extra Overnight at the Karafuu Beach Hotel / Bondeni Rooms. Included is dinner.

Day 8. Transfer back to Zanzibar

Breakfast at leisure in your Zanzibar Island beach hotel, then check out between 10 and 11 a.m. (depending on the hotel’s check out policy) and be transported to Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) for your journey home. You can book a Day room that expires at 06.00 pm (at an additional cost) but only if there is availability and at the hotel’s discretion. This concludes your 8-day Tanzania safari and Zanzibar beach vacation. If you are departing from a different airport, such as Dar es Salaam, we can assist you in scheduling your flight from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam (at extra cost).
