12 Days Gorilla Safari Tour

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the lodge/ hotel in Entebbe or Kampala

You will have a warm welcome by our tour guide/driver at Entebbe airport (EBB) who will take you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls via ziwa for rhinos.

On this day, you will enjoy your breakfast at your hotel in Entebbe OR Kampala set off for Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. I really advise that you make this stop over since it will give you the complete feel of the “big five” in Uganda. With an en-route lunch, you shall make a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to view the endangered rhinos before continuing to Murchison. Ziwa rhino sanctuary is home to the endangered rhinos that are not found elsewhere in Uganda.
You shall then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. The driver/guide will then transfer you to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game viewing drive – Boat cruise & Hike to the top of the falls

Wake up at 6am prepared to capture the unrivalled moment of the African rising sun as it makes its grand entrance to a land to which it shall shine rays of hope, beauty and happiness throughout the day. You can take a photograph to hold, to cherish and remind you of this journey to Uganda; Have a cup of African coffee ready for a morning game drive, bird watching tour across the open savannah scattered woodland and riverine vegetation along the Nile and Albert delta. Expect to see a number of antelopes and cats.  Have lunch and head to the docking site for a 3hour boat trip along the Nile gives assured chance to see the falls from the bottom angle. Hippos, crocodiles, antelopes and aquatic birds can be seen gracing the shores of the river in splendor. Later take a hike to the top of the falls. From the top of the falls there are fantastic advantage points that the falls can be viewed from and photographed. Don’t be faint hearted, take a leap of faith and feel the real adventure for what it’s really like.

Day 4: Head to Kibale forest national park

After morning breakfast, drive to Kibale forsest National Park- the capital world of primates- chimpanzees, baboons and monkeys among others. You will have an en route hot lunch meals. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge for dinner and peaceful rest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and community walk

Take a morning breakfast and take a small drive to the park headquarters for a briefing session regarding chimpanzee tracking code of conduct. Thereafter, you will be guided to the forest and experience tracking of the chimps and other primates in their natural habitat (this is the primate capital of the world). The guide will lead you to the forest for an adventurous experience where you may be blessed to explore various forest primates and forest bird species. The chief highlight of this day will be the chimps, you will enjoy them as they play, sing, communicate and eat for about 1 hour. For bird lovers, you will explore a number of Come back to the lodge for lunch and later go for bigodi evening tour. This wetland sanctuary near Kibale forest is famed for the colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and a wealth of bird life like the African Broad-bill and the great blue turraco. Return for dinner.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park- Evening Game drive

Take breakfast and head to Queen Elizabeth National park. Check in your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Prepare yourself for an evening game drive to look for the big cats and antelopes. The park is blessed with dense swamps, beautiful crater lakes, open dotted savannah vegetation. Come back to the lodge for dinner and peaceful overnight

Day 7: Game drive – Boat cruise

Have early morning breakfast and head to kasenyi plains for a rewarding game drive to look for a number of animal species such as the Elephants, lions, buffaloes, Leopards warthogs, antelopes among others. This side of the park provides a good view of numerous craters. The activity takes 3-4 hour. Head to Mweya peninsular for a hot lunch and an afternoon boat cruise on the kazinga channel to explore aquatic animals like crocodiles, hippos and many bird species like black bee carmine bee eaters and black bee eaters, Lesser Swamp-Warbler, Striated Heron among others.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth national park- Bwindi Forest National park via ishasha sector famous for tree climbing lions.

Rise early for breakfast and set off for  Bwindi Forest National park via the Ishasha sector to look for tree climbing lions as they rest in the fig trees. On this drive, you may be rewarded with more spectacular views of more wildlife like the Ugandan kobs, buffalos and elephants resting or lingering in other places.

Day 9: Gorilla tracking- Life-time memorable experience.

You are now in Bwindi Forest National park and this is the moment you have been waiting for! After very early breakfast, you will be guided to the park headquarters for the briefing session about the gorilla trackers code of conduct from the park’s guides. Thereafter, you will get ready, along with your packed lunches to embark on the lifetime memorable experience in this magnificent forest for gorilla tracking. The trek may be tough and slippery at some points but it all supersedes the excitement of viewing the gorillas at the end of the forest tour. If you are a Keen birder, you will look out for various species of forest birds.

Day 10: Drive to lake Bunyonyi – Canoeing Experience

After our breakfast, we will start a beautiful scenic journey through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills of Kabale with terraced landscape to lake Bunyonyi. We will check in our booked lodge for lunch and later take a canoeing experience on this peaceful lake.

Day 11: Going to lake mburo national park.

After breakfast, we will make our scenic journey through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape to lake mburo national park, This park is well known for zebras, impalas, antelopes, kobs, bushbucks, and you will enjoy an evening canoe ride on the lake. dinner and peaceful overnight stay at the lodge in lake mburo game park.

Day 12: Return back to Kampala OR depart at Entebbe airport

After morning healthy breakfast, prepare for the journey back to Kampala heading to Entebbe, you will enjoy warm lunch along the way stop over at the Uganda equator. Proceed to Kampala. Either you will be dropped to the airport for departure.
