2-Day Mikumi National Park Safari from Zanzibar
At Africa Adventure Vacation, we offer the 2-Day Mikumi National Park safari from Zanzibar to visitors who have got little time to explore the Tanzanian wilderness. This safari will be booked for a safari lodge or one of the camps in the Mikumi National Park. We will begin this safari with an early morning flight from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, where you will meet your safari guide and begin the drive to Mikumi National Park before the traffic jam in Dareslaam. We will arrange airport transfers to Zanzibar Airport, where you will catch your flight to Great Dar es Salaam, which we will have booked for you. The flight will leave as early as possible at 0630 Hrs, whereby you will arrive at Dar es Salaam at 07.00 Hrs. This is so interesting and wonderful. This two-day last-minute safari is available from Zanzibar and includes an overnight stay at Camp Bastian’s lovely mid-range accommodation. However, the same deal can be made available when staying in improved mid-range lodges and tented camps, as well as traditional luxury camps, inside Mikumi National Park. Where to go during this two-day Mikumi National Park safari
As stated, this safari tour takes you to Mikumi National Park, which is unquestionably the best park close to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, particularly if you’re looking for a short animal encounter or if money is tight. The scenery in Mikumi National Park is reminiscent of the Savannah in the Serengeti, and there are several animals there that can be seen even before leaving the park’s gate.
Mikumi National Park lodges for our 2-Day Mikumi National Park Safari from Zanzibar
You will spend one of these two nights at a lodge outside the park or at a tent camp inside the park (within the park’s boundaries). There are good mid-range resorts in Mikumi city, a short drive from the park, but there are currently no lodges inside the Mikumi National Park where you can stay for your two days of safari from Zanzibar. Stanley’s Kopje, Mikumi National Park, and the former Kikoboga Tented Camp are three of the tented camps that can be found inside the park. Tanswiss Lodge and Genesis Lodge are two lodges outside the park. Nowadays, it can take up to 4–5 hours to travel from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi, possibly longer depending on the level of traffic and the presence of traffic police along the main highway to Mbeya, which also connects to Mikumi National Park.
Day 1. Fly from Zanzibar and drive to Dar es Salaam.
Fly from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam very early in the morning, where your safari guide will be waiting for you. After helping you load your belongings into your 4×4 safari jeep at the Dar es Salaam Airport, your guide will greet you. From there, you will begin traveling via the Dar es Salaam-Morogoro-Mbeya Highway to Mikumi National Park. You will arrive in the early afternoon because the travel from Dar es Salaam is extensive and takes at least 5 to 6 hours, depending on traffic. After a brief documentation process at the park’s entrance, you will immediately start your first game drives. You will spend the rest of the afternoon visiting Mikumi National Park, hoping to see as much as you can in one afternoon, after eating lunch at one of the picnic areas or at a restaurant on the way to Mikumi. The Greater Selous Ecosystem’s Mkata Floods lowlands are home to Mikumi National Park, which is abundant in both wildlife and avian life. You can anticipate seeing kudus, lions, elephants, baboons, giraffes, a lot of impalas, gazelles, and other large creatures. Depending on your budget, you’ll retire to a nice tent camp (or a modest rest home in the park) in the late afternoon. Stay at Camp Bastian tonight. (This includes lunch and dinner).
Day 2. Game drive in Mikumi National Park-then drive to Dar es Salaam and fly back to Zanzibar.
If you’re staying inside the park, you’ll need to get up very early this morning for breakfast at the lodge or rest house before returning for an early morning wildlife drive. After breakfast, you’ll keep going on game drives until about mid-morning or midday, when you’ll check out of the park and return to Dar es Salaam via Morogoro and Chalinze. You will catch an evening flight back to Zanzibar Island after your arrival in the early evening, arriving in time for supper at your chosen hotel or resort. Included are breakfast and lunch.
At the end of this great safari, it is crucial to keep in mind that getting to Mikumi National Park requires a lengthy trip of approximately 4–5 hours, and occasionally longer depending on the level of traffic and the presence of traffic police. We can provide this 2-day Mikumi National Park Safari from Zanzibar with a variety of lodging options, including inexpensive, moderately priced, and upscale tented camps that are both inside and beyond the park’s limits. If you can only spend three days, our 2-Day Mikumi National Park Safari from Zanzibar would be the most cost-effective choice for you.
