This 5 Day Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari is designed take you to Queen Elizabeth national park one of the most famous national parks in Uganda and east Africa to have a variety of wildlife including the famous tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector, volcanic features, deep crater lakes and Maramagambo Forest making it a suitable option for a Uganda safaris for wildlife sighting game drives and boat launch safari on the Kazinga Channel. Later, proceed with your Uganda gorilla wildlife safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park in the southwestern Uganda that is renowned for mountain gorilla trekking safari and to have the half of the world’s surviving population of mountain gorillas.
Day 1; Pick up from Entebbe airport / Kampala city – Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park – Visit Kasoga community
On arrival at Entebbe airport, you will meet our company representative who will be your driver guide waiting for you for pick up and take you to a certain restaurant for briefing about your 5 day Uganda Gorilla trekking & Wildlife Safari and later set off to Queen Elizabeth national park one of the most visited national parks in Uganda. Queen Elizabeth national park is a home to over 95 mammal species and about 600 bird species that can be encountered on your visit to the park such as the Uganda kob, Elephant, Warthogs, Giant forest hog, Caped buffaloes, Spotted hyenas and big cats like Leopards, Lions, Genals, Civets, and Serval cats. The park is also habitat to over 10 primate species that are found Maramagambo forest and Kyambura Gorge including Chimpanzees, Black-and-white colobus monkeys plus Olive baboons and Vervet monkeys that can be easily spotted in the most parts of the park. The drive will take you across the equator landmark with an en-route stop at the Equator Landmark to observe water experiment and to take a memorial photo with one leg standing in the northern and another one in the southern hemisphere then proceed with your drive through farms of the incredible Ankole cattle and local people working in their plantation. Have another en-route stop in Mbarara city to have lunch and later continue with your drive to Queen Elizabeth national park to check in at your reserved lodge, have refreshments and go for your evening community tour to Kasoga community which will offer you with firsthand information about the park, their local life experience including their cultural life, marine practices and farming methods that will amazed. Dinner and an overnight.

Day 2; Queen Elizabeth national Park – Morning chimpanzee trekking – Afternoon boat cruise – Evening game drive
After having your breakfast, go Kalinzu forest reserve for chimpanzee trekking. Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve is a home to over 6 primate species, about 379 species of birds, 414 tree species, approximately 261 butterfly species and other wildlife species. When you arrival at forest office, you will be briefed about the guidelines to follow during chimpanzee trekking and then start your forest walk. During chimpanzee trekking, you may encounter other primates such as Blue monkeys, Olive baboons, Red tailed monkeys, Vervet monkeys and others plus other mammals and your guide will be able to give you information about everything that you will encounter. Once you meet chimpanzees, you will have 1 hour of watching them carrying out their daily activities such as grooming their babies, hunting and jumping in tree branches. Later, return to your lodge to have refreshments, lunch and then go for your afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Kazinga Channel is one of the most impressive features in Queen Elizabeth National Park, it is a narrow water stream joining Lake George to Lake Edward with over 32 km long and said to be having the highest concentration of hippopotamuses and crocodiles in Uganda and Africa and most mammals of the park use it to quench their thirty and swimming. Therefore, during your afternoon boat cruise, you will be able to meet a variety of wildlife species such as Hippopotamus, Nile crocodiles, Caped buffaloes, Elephants, monitor lizards and many others including many bird species which makes it a bird lover’s paradise. After your afternoon boat cruise, have a short break to relax and later go for your evening game drive on Kasenyi trucker and this will be specifically to search for the big predators of the park such as Lions, Leopards and Spotted hyenas since they are so active during evening hours and early morning hours, later return to your lodge to relax, dinner and an overnight.

Day 3; Queen Elizabeth national Park – Morning game drive – Game drive through Ishasha sector –Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park
Wake up early to have your breakfast, check out and go for your early morning game through Kasenyi track to search for more wildlife species that you could have missed during your previous game drives such as Elephants, Caped buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Warthogs, waterbucks, Lions and many other because most animals are very active during morning hours. After your early morning game drive, have a short break to relax and start your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park the home to the endangered mountain gorillas and one of the oldest forest in Uganda and Africa. Before reaching Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park, you have an en-route mid-morning game drive through Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to search for the tree climbing lions. Tree climbing lions are only found in Uganda Ishasha sector and Tanzania in the whole of Africa. Uganda has over 4 prides while Tanzania’s lake Manyara has 2 prides. Have lunch and later proceed with your drive to check in at your reserved lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park to relax. Dinner and an overnight

Day 4; Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park – Mountain gorilla trekking – Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
Today after having your heavy breakfast, your driver guide will take your to the park information offices for briefing about the dos and don’ts to follow during gorilla trekking and late start your guided forest walk by the UWA ranger guide to search for the giant endangered mountain gorillas. During your walk, you many encounter other wildlife species besides Gorillas such as chimpanzees, black and white colombus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bush pigs, forest elephants, many bird species, butterflies and many others and your guide will be able to give you information about everything that you will encounter which will make your walk to joyful. The time taken while looking for mountain gorillas is not known but expected to be between 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the location and movements of the gorilla family that you are tracking and when you meet them, you will be allowed to spend a maximum of 1 hour of watching them, taking photos, following their moves and asking as many questions about them and their relationship with forest as would want. After enjoying your 1 hour, return to the starting point to pick your tracking certificate, enjoy your lunch and later drive to Lake Bunyonyi to relax wile canoeing and bird watching on Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and an overnight

Day 5; Lake Bunyonyi – Morning boat riding – Drive back to Entebbe international airport
After having your breakfast, go for your early morning boat riding on Lake Bunyonyi that will take you to visit several islands. This Lake has over 29 small islands and each of them have it is unique exciting story so, vising some of the most know Islands like Akampene Island which was used to punish all those girls who were found pregnant before marriage by isolating them on the island to death. After enjoying your morning boat riding, return to your lodge to pick up your bags, check out and embark on your return drive to Entebbe international airport with an en-route stop to have lunch at Igongo cultural center and then proceed with your drive straight to Entebbe international airport for your return flight and this will be the end of your 5 day Uganda Gorilla trekking & Wildlife Safari
