4 Days chimpanzee habituation and tracking safari to Kibale forest park

This 4 days chimpanzee habituation and tracking safari to Kibale Forest national park in Uganda will give full chimpanzee experience when they are still so wild and when they have been fully habituated for people.  Kibale forest national park is the famous safari destination for primate experience in mostly chimpanzee experience in Uganda and Africa. It inhabits 13 different species primates and some are unique to this park.

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe international airport – Transfer to Kampala city

On your arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be warmly welcomed by company our company representative and your safari driver guide and transfer to your reserved hotel in Kampala city. Check in hotel and meet your driver guide at the reception for briefing about your 4 Days chimpanzee habituation and tracking safari to Kibale forest park. Dinner an over night

Note; if time allows, your guide will drive you around the city to sight see the historical and important places within and outside the city such as Namugongo martyrs’ shrines, The Uganda national museum, Old Kampala mosque, Bahai temple, Twekobe palace and Amin torture chambers and local vendors’ market for rolex.

Day 2: Kampala city – Transfer to Kibale Forest national park – Bigodi wetland nature walk

After breakfast check out and transfer to Kibale forest national park for an adventurous chimpanzee habituation and trekking. This road drive will take you through the little towns and villages as you observe the African rhythm of life. Besides chimpanzees you will encounter other primates such as the rare I’Hoest’s monkey, Blue monkey, black and white Colobus, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, and Olive baboon, Bush baby to mention but a few, many bird species, beautiful butterflies, flowers and tree species. On your arrival at Kibale forest national park, you will check in at your booked lodge to have refreshments and lunch and later go to Bigodi sanctuary wetland for an evening guide nature walk, this wetland is paradise place for bird lovers with over 339 species of birds including Hornbills, Turacos, Parrots, Cranes, home base to 8 species of primates, including the Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, L’hoest Monkey, Vervet Monkey and the Blue Monkey and beautiful sceneries. The walk will also take you through the local communities of Batooro and Bakiga who are surrounding the park. Retire from the nature walk back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 3; Kibale forest national park – Full day Chimpanzee habituation

After your heavy breakfastand your packed lunch ready, go to the park head office for briefings from the UWA ranger guide about how to behave during the habituation process then begin your day activity of engaging in the process of making wild chimpanzees to get familiar to human beings for tourism and research studies. This is a full day activity beginning at 7:00 am. The process of habituating chimpanzees takes 2 years to be complete and the habituated group to ready humans. You will have a short break to have refreshments, lunch and then continue with your day adventure. Other primates to encounter include; Red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, Black and white colobus monkey, olive baboons, blue monkeys, Grey cheeked mangabeys and many others. Besides primates, there are other wildlife species to see such as over 339 bird species, 200 tree species and other big mammals like wild pigs, giant forest hog and warthogs etc. In the evening return to your lodge to relax, dinner and an overnight

Day 4; Kibale Forest national park – Morning chimpanzee tracking – Return to Kampala or Entebbe city / airport

Enjoy your early morning breakfast and head to the park head office for the morning pre-tracking briefings about how to behave during chimpanzee trekking expedition. Then start your long time waited adventurous walk in the forest to search for chimpanzees. You will be welcomed by pant-hoot calls of the chimpanzees. During this walk, you will view other primates especially monkeys jumping in the tree branches and several bird species. After your chimpanzee adventure, return to your starting point to have lunch and later return to Kampala to end your 4 Days chimpanzee habituation and tracking safari to Kibale forest park or  airport to meet your return flight with an unforgettable experience.
