The Masai Mara Triangle in Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara Triangle in Masai Mara National Reserve this is one of the important designated areas of the Masai Mara National Reserve. The Triangle lies within the western Direction of the Mara River, an important river that is crossed by the millions of the wildebeest and thousands of the zebras during the Wildebeest Migration. It is also near the Oloololo escarpment.

The Masai Mara Triangle is rich in an ecosystem rich in fresh pastures or grass for the animals and augments the park’s landscape scenery. The Triangle has open grasslands with dotted tree species commonly known as the Balanite trees. The presence of the escarpment and the Mara River has made the Mara Triangle be a habitat for the various wildlife species which are always spotted in the triangle grazing giving visitors wonderful photo moments while on the safaris.

Like the Masai Mara National Reserve, the Triangle is run and managed by the local people, and it the responsibility of the Mara Conservancy composed of the local community landlords and the different stakeholders within the tourism sector that take responsibility for managing the Masai Mara Triangle.

There has been effective management of this great area within the Masai Mara National Reserve and this has been attributed to Managements ability to sensitize the local community members, proving skills to the local guides, and giving back to the community by providing services such as road in fractures, the community school, and hospitals among other and this make visitors accept and appreciate the role that is performed by the conservation and tourism within their area.

The Triangle is reasonably big and it occupied about 500 square kilometers and offers open savannahs, seasonal Marshes, and other wildlife species which give it an upper hand for the visitors to see the wildlife animals and it has been proven that the Masai Mara Triangle is the place with the highest concentration of the wildlife including animals and bird species which are unique.

Mara Triangle is regarded as the most diverse wildlife but is one of the remoteness areas or conservancies in Masai Mara National Reserve and it has only two lodges that can be found within the Triangle and most of the lodges around found in the Northern part of the Triangle at the border.
