Six reasons why you should look out for Queen Elizabeth National Park: Queen Elizabeth is the second largest national park in Uganda after Murchison falls and it is also one of the most visited national parks in Uganda. The Park is located in western part of Uganda in four districts namely Kasese, Rubirizi, Rukungiri, and Kamwenge district. The lies on 1978km and it is known for harboring about 95 mammal species including the tree climbing lions which are found in Ishasha sector .Other species include the Uganda knobs, leopards chimpanzees, hippos, bushbucks and it is also comprised with over 600 bird species which is the sixth highest diversity in the world and the highest in Africa making it a perfect destination, These bird species includes shoebill, swamp flycatcher, palm-nut vulture, crab-plover great blue turaco among others.

Boat cruising on Queen Elizabeth National Park; Boat cruise is an extraordinary activity carried out on Queen Elizabeth park, it is done on kazinga channel, a water channel that connects lake George to lake albert. During boat cruising which takes about 2 to 3hours you will be able to view different water species like hippo, Nile crocodiles in water and on surface birds like bee eater fish eagles among others.

Chimpanzee Trekking in Queen Elizabeth; Chimpanzee trekking is an exciting activity in queen Elizabeth  where you will be able explore the forest on foot in search of chimpanzees and once are found, one hour is given to you to spend it with them to learn about their behavior and habitats. Chimpanzee trekking in Queen Elizabeth park is done at kyambura gorge also known as the valley of apes and the activity starts early in the morning about rules and regulations to follow during the trek king. After the briefing you will start trekking in forest with an experienced tour guide who will lead you to track them and once are found you be allowed to spend an hour with them in their nature habitats which gives a chance to learn about, take pics, record videos among others.

Accessing Queen Elizabeth national park

Queen Elizabeth park is located in western part of Uganda and you can access it via road or air transport.

Accessing Queen Elizabeth national park by road transport from Entebbe air port via Entebbe, Kampala, Masaka, Mbarara, fort port road to the park head quarters it takes about 7 to 8 hours.

Accessing Queen Elizabeth national park by air transport means, you will charter flights with Aero link Uganda or Bar aviation from Entebbe international air port to kasese airstrip. Using air transport means is the best to tourist because it reduces distance to be covered.
