Getting To Rwenzori Mountain national Park: It is located a few kilometers north of the Uganda-Congo boarder. the well-known trailhead at Ruboni and Visitors can be access it through Kampala from the north through the Northern side via Fort portal which is around 377 kilometers and through the southern part by passing through Mbarara district and Queen Elizabeth National Park which may take 450kilometers. Nyakalengiis trail is about 17 kilometers off 17km off the Kasese-Fort Portal road and 25km north of Kasese town.
 Visitors can access Mountain Rwenzori National park through different convenient routes by either air or by road
By road
There two major land routes that visitors can use to access Mountain Rwenzori National Park and these include;
Kampala- Mubende- Kyegegwa-Kyenjonjo -Fort portal (375kms)
This is the shortest distance for you to access mountain Rwenzori National park by using this route you can make a stopover at Bubende town council for the best fingertips licking roasted meat and proceed to Fort portal with your eyes filled with magnificent sceneries of tea plantations and that of Mountain Rwenzori range. In the Fort portal, you will experience the cleanest city in Uganda still with clear sceneries. This journey will take you and your driver-guide about 6-7hours and a half. Buses, private and taxis cars are numerous in Kampala city that uses this route.
Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara-Bushenyi -Kasese (450km)
This route is slightly longer compared to the above but with eye rewarding experiences. En route to the park using this route expect to have an opportunity to make a stop at the equator line at Kayabwe and again toward Kasese town for another equator line. Further, with this route, you have to enjoy shot distances off the road to enjoy Lake Mburo National park just before Mbarara for zebras and giraffes after along the way just 3km to Mbarara city you can make a stopover at Igongo culture center with a wealth of history of all Ankole region of Uganda.
By air
Further, the park can be accessed by taking an arranged charter from Kajjansi airlifted OR Entebbe international Airport which can take for one and a haft hours. By being airlifted to Fort portal, you travel to the south of Kasese, then from Mubuku, it is about 15minutes north of Kasese. After passing the Bugoye hydropower plant gate and it is here that the guides and porters will be availed to you to be able to proceed with the safari.
