4 Day Tanzania safari beginning in Zanzibar

4 Day Tanzania safari beginning in Zanzibar

4 Day Tanzania safari beginning in Zanzibar

If you have the time to take a four-day vacation from Zanzibar Island, our 4 day Tanzania safari beginning Zanzibar package is the ideal option. This package includes two of Tanzania’s most famous wildlife areas: the Serengeti National Park, famous for its wildebeest migration and big cats, and the Ngorongoro Crater, known for its high concentration of wild animals in a very small area of around 21 kilometers in diameter, but still a place where you can see all five of the Big 5. Because the distance between Zanzibar and the Serengeti National Park is so great, this excursion can only be done by plane. We, on the other hand, book that flight for you in order to make it as easy as feasible for you. The trip concludes in Arusha with a flight back to Zanzibar. If you wish to finish the tour in Arusha, we can subtract the cost of your return flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport and drop you off at Arusha Kilimanjaro Airport. Simply request that alteration from our bale safari professionals. This four-day package is also available with flights out of Dar if you arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport. We have a few safari itineraries that start and end in Dar es Salaam that you may look at if any of them interest you.

Accommodation on this 4 Day Tanzania safari beginning in Zanzibar is in good midrange lodges and tented camps in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater to keep expenses low, but you can easily request an upgraded stay in upper midrange or standard luxury lodgings, or even deluxe to top market/high-end accommodation. Because it is a personalized tour, we may tailor it to your specific needs, ideas, and budget. Safari vacations in Tanzania should ideally be arranged well in advance. This is due to the fact that, during the high and peak seasons, finding lodging on short notice might be difficult. We can still arrange this vacation in a timely manner if you let us first check for accommodation and flight availability before making a payment. However, in this situation, you will need some flexibility because we must provide alternate accommodations if one or both are not available at the time of booking.

Day 1: Fly to Serengeti National Park from Zanzibar.

This morning, you can arrange your own transportation or we will provide transportation to Zanzibar Airport, where you will board a flight to the Serengeti National Park in Northern Tanzania at 07.45 a.m. You will arrive in the Serengeti at about 10.45 a.m. and will be met at the airstrip by our safari guide. Your first wildlife drive begins as soon as you depart the Seronera Airstrip in the Central Serengeti. The Seronera River valley, located in the heart of the Serengeti, is well-known for its abundance of wildlife and fauna.

You can expect to encounter lions, leopards, zebras, buffaloes, topis, gazelles, and other creatures. Depending on where the wildebeests are, you may also see incredibly large populations of wildebeests (please ask your guide for the best location to spot them). This day will begin with a picnic lunch, followed by additional game drives in the Serengeti plains until twilight, when we will check in at camp or lodge for relaxation, a campfire dinner, and an overnight stay. Dinner and overnight at Osinon Serengeti Camp or a comparable camp. Lunch and dinner are included.

Day 2. Whole-day wildlife sightings in Serengeti National Park

If you can get up early enough, you can go on an early morning game drive. Talk to our tour guide the night before. Sunrise game drives provide an excellent opportunity to observe rare nocturnal animal species that are more active at night, as well as early risers among diurnal species. It’s a good time to watch animals up close because most animals congregate along the roadside to avoid the morning dew. Following breakfast at your camp or lodge, you will spend the entire day in the Serengeti National Park. You can also do morning and sunset wildlife drives, with a midday stop for meals and relaxation at the lodge. The term “Serengeti” is derived from the Maasai word “Siringit,” which translates to “plains without end,” and true to the name, you will traverse huge stretches of the African savannah in search of the various animals and birds that the Serengeti has to offer. More than 1.5 million wildebeests live in the Serengeti, but that’s not all. Other creatures you can expect to see include lions, cheetahs, elephants, the elusive leopards, zebras, eland topis, warthogs, impalas, and many more. 2nd Overnight at Osinon Serengeti Camp or another such camp. All meals are provided.

Day 3. Explore the Ngorongoro Crater Tour.

After an early morning breakfast at your Serengeti camp or lodge, you will check out and drive out of the Serengeti National Park through the Naabi Hill Gate towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After arriving at the Crater’s View Point in the mid-morning, you will register and descend to the crater floor, where you will spend the day enjoying wildlife drives with one of Tanzania’s best professional safari rangers. The Ngorongoro Crater, popularly known as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” is a “must-see” bucket list wildlife region in Africa. Ngorongoro has the world’s biggest concentration of wild animals in their native habitat. Ngorongoro Crater was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve, and it never ceases to astonish visitors. Don’t be surprised if you see all five of the Big 5 in one day on the crater floor. After a successful game drive in Ngorongoro, you will travel up the crater rim and out to a beautiful lodge near Karatu, just beyond the NCAA, for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Pamoja Olea Farm Lodge or a comparable establishment. All meals are provided.

Day 4. Explore Lake Manyara-Arusha and fly back to Zanzibar.

This morning, you get up early for breakfast (or you can leave the lodge with a packed meal). You will drop into the Great Rift Valley floor, where you will register to enter Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara is a Masai word that translates to the euphorbia tirucalli tree species, which is used to build hedges to protect the nomadic Maasai tribe’s homesteads and cattle. The park is emphasized by several of these trees, but it is the renowned tree climbing lions that are frequently sighted napping on the acacia tree branches that make this park unique. Thompson gazelles, zebras, impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, and other wildlife are also frequent in this area. The entry to this lush green park leads to an underground water forest, which is an ideal habitat for baboons, blue monkeys, bush bucks, and vast elephant herds that shelter in the sheds from the midday sun while consuming the green branches, twigs, and herbs. The Hippo pools and Lake Manyara (the water body itself) provide opportunities to view hippos and aquatic birds such as colorful flamingos, pelicans, Egyptian geese, cormorants, and many more.

You will go on game drives till midday, then your guide will drive you to Arusha town, where you will be dropped off at Arusha Airport (1 hour before departure) for your flight leaving at 15.45 hrs. Lunch and dinner are included. The safari in Tanzania from Zanzibar ends with a visit to the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater.
