Olare Motorogi Conservancy in Masai Mara National Reserve- This is one of the conservancies that is found in the Masai Mara national reserve and it is found in the northern side of the Masai Mara National Reserve.
This Conservancy was formed as the result of combining 2 sub-conservancies namely Olare Orok conservancy and Motorongi conserving that covers over 33000 acres of the land.
The Olare Motorogi Conservancy is of great importance especially when it comes to the areas of natural importance and it has attracted tourists because of its natural beauty.
The Olare Motorogi Conservancy shares the borders within Masai Mara National Reserve directly, especially its down valleys of Ntiakitiak and the rivers of the Olare Orok Rivers which occupied the larges acacia woodland trees.
Olare Motorogi Conservancy was formed in 2006 by the Masai landlord owners who combined and contributed their land to make this conservancy.
It is reported that over 277 Masia landlords gave out their land that is equivalent to 3500 acres and they stopped grazing their cattle from this land which later attracted several animals because of the presence of food. Later the carnivores were also attracted to the areas and this led to the ecosystem balance.
I can say that Olara Motorogi Conservancy has got very many pride of lions in Masai Mara National Reserve and this makes it a good place for the game drives safaris.
The Olare Motorogi Conservancy forms an important buffer zone for the animals migrating from Masai Mara National Reserve and other conservancies.

These accommodation facilities also include the tents such as the Kicheche Bush Camp, Mara plains camp, Polini lion’s camp, Mara Expedition Camp among others.
The Olare Motorogi Conservancy works in a well-coordinated way with the Kenya wildlife services to increase the welfare and conservation of the wildlife and this has been possible through coordinated research and other foundation that operate within the Masai Mara National Reserve such as the Colorado State University with research, Living with Lions among others which has greatly improved the conservation efforts.
Visitors can get to Olare Motorogi Conservancy through road transport that passes through Narok County and it is always advisable to use the 4×4 wheel drive vehicle which will help you navigate slippery conditions during the heavy rains.
The roads from Narok are not all that good and sometimes they are associated with potholes. However, you can as well use the scheduled or domestic flights that are open daily from the Wilson airport and they fly directly to Olare Motorogi Conservancy.
