Biking safaris in Bwindi

Gorilla habituation

Gorilla habituation refers to the process of making mountain gorillas get used to human presence, this is only done in Rushaga sector of Bwindi and it’s done for a period of 2-3 years by researchers and rangers until mountain gorillas pass a mocking exercise then they qualify to be trekked by tourists. Gorilla habituation is a lot more fun compared to gorilla trekking as you get to spend a maximum of four hours with gorillas, unlike trekking which is done for only 1 hour.

Best time for biking in Bwindi

Biking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park can be done at any time of the year but the best time to do this is during the dry season which occurs from June to September and December to January. It’s during these months that the roads are accessible and the trails are in good condition.
