8 days best of Rwanda tour & safari takes you to volcano national park for gorilla trekking tour, chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe national park, lake kivu for community encounters, Bisoke Volcano hike and game drives in Akagera national park.

Day 1: Arrival

After your arrival, meet and greet with your tour guide at the Kigali International Airport and have your safari briefings. Transfer to your hotel and later take up the Kigali city tour including the Genocide Memorial and visit a craft market. Have lunch then drive to Akagera National Park, which is set at a relatively low altitude on the border with Tanzania. Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge

Day 2: Game drive

We enter the park for a full day game drive in the park, which is home to a variety of game, it’s an exciting reserve and there are plenty of animals around and the birdlife is quite exceptional. Afternoon optional boat at Lake Ihema to explore water birds including hippos and crocodiles.Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge

Day 3: Canopy walk

After an early breakfast, we drive to the wonderful rainforest of  Nyungwe National Park via Kigali and Butare; we’ll have a stopover in Nyanza for a visit to the Ancient Royal palace. Later, we go for lunch and continue toward Butare for a visit to the Rwanda National Museum and after we continue to the Nyungwe forest for overnight.Overnight at Nyungwe Top View Lodge

Day 4: Chimp trekking

After an early breakfast, we report to the park for chimps trekking formalities then depart for a hike into Nyungwe Forest. There is a lot more various other primate species, lots of forest dwelling birds we will encounter on the way and fauna. After having lunch at the lodge, we enter again the park for a canopy walkway experience while exploring the paradisiacal Nyungwe at 40 meters high above the ground level.Overnight at Nyungwe Top View Lodge

Day 5: Community encounters

After breakfast, we drive to Musanze in the North, alongside Lake Kivu; the roads offer panoramic view of the lake and surrounding hilly Rwanda’s countryside. Have Lunch in Gisenyi then proceed to Musanze for overnight. Today will be a largely driving day.Overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge

Day 6: Gorilla trekking

After your morning wakeup call and breakfast, report to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefings by the Volcanoes National Park’s guides. After you are assigned to a specific group, start your trek which will vary in length depending on which gorilla group you have been assigned to. You will spend one hour in their company before retracing your steps back down the volcano slopes. Later after lunch at the lodge, we visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural center. The center will give you a memorable experience living the Rwandan Culture such as dancing, cooking. Overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge

Day 7: Hiking

After an early breakfast, we report to the park headquarters for hiking formalities and along with your professional hiking guide start the hike to the high pick of Bisoke Volcano with its beautiful crater lake. Later after hike, drive back to the lodge for refreshment and lunch and then enjoy the drive back to Kigali.Overnight at The Travellers Guest House

Day 8: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kigali international airport to meet your flight
