4 days Selous safari departs from Dar es Salaam by 4×4 jeep and spends 3 nights at the Rufiji River Camp. It is a safari well worth doing if you find yourself in Dar es Salaam and have just a few days spare to spend in Tanzania its gives a good chance to explore selous game reserve
Day 1 : Dar es Salaam city center – Selous Game Reserve.
Depart from Tanzania Dar es Salaam city center by 4×4 jeep to Selous Game Reserve to start your holiday safari, then enjoy late lunch at the Rufiji River Camp. Embark on an afternoon game drive in the reserve, and then return to Rufiji River Camp for overnight.
Day 2 – Selous Game Reserve
Enjoy a full day game viewing in the reserve, participate in some classic style game drives – exploring the bush in open 4 x 4 jeep. Waterbuck, southern reedbuck, and bushbuck are common in the Selous game reserve, rare sable antelope, lion and greater kudu also frequent this area. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp.
Day 3 – Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast, accompany with an armed ranger on a walking safari in the reserve. The sights and smells, and sound of a walking safari are a special treat that will live long in your memory. The thrill of creeping up to animals and birds to shoot them with your best camera is a great experience.
Afternoon enjoy a boat safari where you will explore the different channels and lakes of the Rufiji River System, surrounded by crocodiles and hippos. A large variety of water birds like ducks,herons, storks, and stilts. Also you can see land mammals, such as giraffe and elephants. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp.
Day 4 – Selous back to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast enjoy a morning game drive in the Game Reserve. Early lunch at the camp followed by transfer to Dar es Salaam. Drop off at the city center or fly back home.
