Difference Between Gorilla Tracking And Gorilla Trekking

What is the difference between gorilla tracking and gorilla trekking? There are numerous times when people have confused gorilla tracking and gorilla trekking though the two have a slight difference. Gorilla trekking involves tourists being led by a ranger guide in search of mountain gorillas in their natural habitats, this involves hiking so it requires one to be physically fit as mountain gorillas stay on higher elevations of the Mgahinga national park, Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, Virunga national park, and volcanoes national park

In most cases, gorilla trekking has been referred to as gorilla trekking but this involves researchers, rangers, scientists trying to find a given habituated gorilla family to be trekked. The Rangers head out to the jungle before the trekkers and use different methods and signs of finding an allocated gorilla family from where they were a day before.

Once the trackers find the gorilla family, they communicate to the park headquarters about the location of that gorilla family using radio calls then the trekkers can start trekking. They usually locate these gorilla families with their location of the previous night and feeding area. Gorilla trekking always begins early in the morning at 7:30 am, clients are briefed at the briefing center and from here they are taught about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking before they embark on the activity while gorilla tracking starts earlier than trekking on the day of trekking.

Gorilla tracking makes gorilla trekking easier because mountain gorillas can easily be found and there are higher chances of seeing a gorilla family than when they are not first tracked before trekking.
