Revised chimpanzee permit prices in Uganda: Uganda Wildlife Authority, a government body that manages and controls parks in the country, announced new tariff adjustments for 2027. Among the changes were the chimpanzee permits for Kibale Forest National Park. These were increased in the high-season months, which are January, February, March, June, July, August, September, November, and December.

The main attractions in Kibale National Park are the chimpanzees, and this is because they are close relatives of human beings. They attract lots of travelers from different parts of the world who want to meet them in their natural habitats. Kibale Forest National Park, which has more than half of the chimpanzee population in the world, also attracts tourists as they have more than an 85% chance of seeing these apes in the forest.

The new chimpanzee permit prices for Kibale Forest National Park

Chimpanzee trekking permits for Kibale Forest National Park 2027 will cost $300 for foreign non-residents, $200 for foreign residents, $100 for the Rest of Africa, and UGX180,000 for citizens of East African member states. Gorilla habituation permits will be $400 for foreign non-residents, $300 for foreign residents, $250 for the rest of Africa, and UGX250,000 for citizens of East African Member States.

Uganda Wildlife Authority made changes in these prices as part of its commitment to sustainable conservation financing, improved visitor experiences, and strengthened collaboration with its stakeholders. The new prices are still worth it, as trekkers have more than 95% chances of seeing these animals in the jungle.
