Visiting Bujumbura city is a great way to connect with people within Burundi

The city of Bujumbura

This little city has not been able to grow in recent decades due to years of fighting in the area. Locally referred to as Buji, the city has retained many aspects of its past as a French colony, such as its excellent nightlife, food, and drinks.

French food is served at many of the city’s restaurants, with a broad range of costs and standards. Burundi’s only university and a monument honoring the nation’s independence from French, Belgian, and German colonial rule are located in the city.

The Living Museum, regarded by many as the best of its kind in Africa, is located in Bujumbura as well. It displays Burundian arts and crafts, both traditional and modern.

Gishora

King Gisabo established Gishora stregically on top of a hill 7 kilometers from Gitega.

The main draw of Gishora is the drum sanctuary, which is also a frequent stopover for safaris. The drums have been an important part of Burundi’s history, usually being made for and played during royal celebrations. The sanctuary is a great spot to visit the model of a royal palace and learn about this aspect of Burundian culture.

In conclusion, regardless of the country’s size, the destination has a lot of activities and interesting attractions to offer to all travelers who intend to visit this landlocked country
