Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
Welcome to Kilimanjaro on this day. You will be met at the Kilimanjaro international airport by one of the safari guides, who will warmly welcome you, greet you, and give you an overview of the safari before transferring you to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay, where you can stay at the African Tulip hotel.
Day 2: Explore Tarangire National Park.
After breakfast, you will set off for Tarangire National Park, arriving at Ang’ata Tented Camp, which is set on the banks of the Tarangire River, in time for lunch. Before returning for dinner and the night, you’ll go on a game viewing drive in the afternoon. This is a year-round park with varied seasons that offer unique experiences, ranging from dusty, dry, and hot with animals huddled around the quickly dwindling river to the fecund green season with newborn animals and chattering birds. During the dry season, many migrating species seek refuge here. You can watch herds and groups of animals such as 600 elephants, zebras, buffalos, and oryxes as they go from the Maasai to the Tarangire in quest of water. There are also a few lions patrolling the bush, hunting for unwary prey. Leopards, elephants, zebras, pronghorns, elands, gazelles, and lions are among the animals that can be seen early in the day since they are more active. After lunch, you’ll go on an afternoon game drive to see additional animals and birds, as well as the gorgeous scenery. You’ll also go on a late-afternoon walking safari, where you’ll get up-close and personal with nature and the animals. After your wildlife watching, your guide will transport you back to your resort for dinner and an overnight stay. You can stay at Tarangire Lodge, Ang’ata Tented Camp, Tarangire Treetops Lodge, and Baobab Tented Lodge, among others. Meals are fully provided on the fallboard.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
In the morning, you will travel into the crater on a steep and narrow route after an early breakfast. The slopes are forested at first, but the scenery gradually transforms into a savannah with the occasional acacia tree. The wildlife is incredible, and if you’re lucky, you might even see the big five animals, including lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards. Warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and a variety of other animals live in the crater. You’ll encounter nearly every creature that lives on the east African savanna. We’ll descend to the 600-meter crater to see more animals, including lion pride, hyena clans, jackal packs, hippos, zebras, herds of wildebeests, elephant bulls with extraordinarily long tusks due to the highly nutritious grass rich in minerals, and many others. It’s also the best area in the world to see the endangered black rhino. You will return to the resort in the late afternoon. While you wait for your supper on a clear night at Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp.
Day 4: Full-day game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater.
Travel to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area (NCA), which contains undulating grasslands, lakes, craters, mountains, and dormant volcanoes, early this morning. Arrive at the “8th Wonder of the World,” a one-of-a-kind biosphere that has stayed practically intact from the beginning of time. Before going up and being transferred to Ngorongoro Farm House for the night, you will have a picnic lunch on the crater floor. Grasslands, marshes, woodlands, salt pans, a freshwater lake, and a dazzling array of birds are all contained within its high walls. All of Africa’s big five mammals (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo) may be found here, as well as a vast cast of plains wildlife and one of the continent’s densest predator populations. On a clear night at Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp, you will return to your lodge for your supper.
Day 5: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport.
You will be taken to Kilimanjaro airport this morning after breakfast for your international trip back home. Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, and Masai Mara extensions are available upon request, and this marks the end of your 5 days Tarangire, Manyara, and Ngorongoro Safari.
